please ask at reception.
Cervical Smears
Cancer of the cervix can be prevented and all female
patients between twenty-one and sixty-four years are advised
to have regular smear tests. These are important because
they can detect early signs of disease, which is easily
treated. A call and recall system is operated by the Health
authority to remind you when your test is due. Please ask at
reception for an appointment.
Breast Awareness
Our nurse practitioner is trained to teach female patients
how to check for any changes in their breasts. If you notice
any lumps please arrange to see your doctor as soon as
possible.
Influenza
Each year during October and November a programme of
influenza vaccinations is carried out. It is strongly
recommended that patients with diabetes, chronic lung
diseases (including asthma), chronic heart disease,
chronic kidney disease and patients with reduced immunity
take advantage of this vaccination.
